Car Window Breaker & Seatbelt Cutter
If your car door won't open after a crash or in water: cut the belt, break the window, get out.
- Spring-loaded — press it against the glass. No swinging, no strength needed.
- Built-in seatbelt cutter — for a belt that's jammed or won't release.
- 100 g aluminium — small enough to keep within reach of the driver.
Works on tempered glass only. It can't break a windscreen or laminated windows. Check the small label in the corner of your side windows.

Where to keep it
Within reach of the driver while belted in: door pocket, centre console or keychain. Not in the glove box or trunk, where you may not reach it after a crash.

Check your windows first
Every car window has a small label printed in one corner. It tells you which windows you can break.
(or TEMP / T)
Tempered glass shatters into small, blunt pieces when you press the tool into a corner. Most side and rear windows are tempered.
(or LAMI / L)
Laminated glass has a plastic layer inside, so it cracks but stays in one piece. Every windscreen is laminated, and so are the side windows in many newer cars.
- Look in the lower corner of each side window for the small printed label.
- Find at least one tempered window you can reach from your seat.
- Tell your passengers which window to use.
No label, or all laminated? Check your car's manual or ask your dealer. If no side window is tempered, the rear window often is.
Cut. Break. Get out.
Spring-loaded, so it works with one hand and no room to swing.
1. Cut the belt
If the buckle won't release, hook the blade over the belt and pull. It slices through in one move.
2. Press into a corner
Push the tip into a lower corner of a tempered side window until it clicks. The glass shatters.
3. Get out
Push the broken glass out with a covered elbow and climb out. Children first, then you.
Within reach, with your belt on
A safety tool only helps if you can reach it in seconds.
-
Driver's door pocket
Right next to your hand, even with your belt on.
-
Centre console
Reachable from both front seats.
-
On your keychain
Comes with you into every car you drive.
-
Not the glove box or trunk
After a crash, with your belt on, you may not be able to reach them.
